History
Enjoy the Journey started in reaction to the film "The Race to Nowhere," a documentary describing the overwhelming effects academic stress can have on students. Founder Ingrid Lustig and several Lake Forest High School students were so moved by the movie that a group was formed to help end this Race. The name derived from this group's emphasis on slowing down and enjoying high school rather than racing blindly through it in a quest for extreme success. We owe a huge thanks to Katie Sorensen, as well, for our logo design.
Our Beliefs
- We believe high school is a time to discover yourself.
- We believe true expression is inhibited by premature focus on college admission standards.
- We believe freshman year is the time to get involved, sophomore year is the time to embrace your class, junior year is the time to keep calm and carry on, and senior year is the time to focus on college.
- We believe we're only young once.
